The Nicaragua Dispatch would like to thank all its readers, advertisers and sponsors for helping to make the first two months of this project successful.

Since launching in late October, nearly 33,000 visitors from 118 countries—mostly the U.S. and Nicaragua—have read 170,000 pages on our site. Our readers continue to be loyal; many return to the site every day or several times every week.

Nicaragua Dispatch readers are also engaged in the project, as we had hoped they would be. We’ve had 502 reader comments posted on 164 articles in the past two months. We’ve also published some four dozen reader-submitted blogs, opinion pieces and community news features. Hundreds of others have emailed us, commented on Facebook and shared our articles on social media networks.

So thanks to all of you for helping to get the word out about this project. We plan to grow even more in 2012.

We would especially like to welcome our Sponsors—Milagro del Mar Beach Club, AMCHAM and AEI Energy—as well as our advertisers and individual “Friends of the Nicaragua Dispatch” who support this project financially and allow us to continue delivering free, independent news from Nicaragua.

If you’re a reader who is interested in supporting one of the few remaining independent media outlets in Nicaragua, please click here.

We wish everyone a happy holiday and healthy and productive 2012.

We are going to take a few days off to tend to the Yule log, but shall return before Melchior emerges from the bleak midwinter night with his annual offering of myrrh.

Thanks for reading,

Tim Rogers
