(posted March 22, 9:25 a.m.)- President Daniel Ortega, always on the lookout for foreign meddling in other country’s political affairs, yesterday endorsed Venezuela’s presidential candidate Nicolás Maduro to give continuity to the “Bolivarian Revolution” started by former President Hugo Chávez.

“Our salute and our support for compañero Nicolás Maduro, who I am sure will manage well, giving continuity to the project started by our dear brother, comandante Hugo Chávez,” Ortega said Thursday night during a political rally in Managua to unveil 130 new Russian-made busses.

“He will give continuity, I am sure of it, accompanied by the (Venezuelan) people, the Nicaraguan people and the people of Our America and the people of the world who identify with the Bolivarian process,” Ortega said.

Ortega also lambasted Maduro’s critics, whom he says are full of “venom” for mocking Maduro’s “humble origins” as a bus driver.
